YB Wong Ho Leng (Richard)

In 1984, Wong Ho Leng graduated with a double degree (Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws) from The University of Sydney, Australia. He was a Barrister specialising in constitutional law at New South Wales, Australia. He started practicing law in Miri, Malaysia in 1985 and was one of the founding partners of Siong & Wong Advocates. Thereafter he established WONG HO LENG & CO. ADVOCATES in Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia on the 4th of May, 1989.

Wong Ho Leng specialised in litigation and was well-respected for his oratory and litigation skills particularly in injunction suits and election laws. Besides practicing law, he was a lawmaker, often proposing and debating on Bills in Sarawak State Legislative Assembly of which he was a Member from 1996 until his passing on 21 June 2014. Wong Ho Leng was also a Member of Parliament for Sibu from May 2010 until May 2013.
